The Norwegian Buhund is a bright, boisterous companion who thrives on being the center of attention. They're quick studies, often picking up new commands with impressive speed, but their intelligence also means they need a job to do. Without sufficient mental and physical stimulation, a Buhund will invent their own entertainment, and it might not be to their human's liking. These vocal dogs are excellent watchdogs, alerting their families to every passing squirrel or leaf. Their herding instincts sometimes surface as gentle nudges or playful attempts to “gather” their favorite people. A Buhund forms intensely loyal bonds, wanting to be involved in every family activity, from hiking endeavors to cozy nights on the couch.
